It started back in 2016 when five friends decided there were not enough consumer products made out of recycled materials. Great to find a company with similar values.

These friends took action and created Newly, a company that makes beautiful home goods using 100% recycled and repurposed materials.

The team behind Newly believes that being an environmentalist means “being honest about the effect on the natural world and to value its health over other interests like profit and convenience.”

Newly recognize that the earth has a limited amount of resources. They understand the importance of considering the total cost of manufacturing goods, including its impact on the air, water, land, and greenhouse gas emissions. To demonstrate this, they use materials that minimize these impacts and that actively divert waste from landfills and places where they can impact the environment.

Their products include a range of beautiful homewares from cutting bards to glassware and blankets. See below for some great examples.

Newly: Recycled Materials

Newly use a number of different recycled and upcycled materials including:

  • Reclaimed wood
  • Recycled Glass
  • Recycled Cotton
  • Recycled plastic bottles
  • Recycled Acrylic

Certifications

  • Newly has been a certified B-Corporation since 2019.
  • They are part of 1% for the Planet, meaning they donate 1% of their profits to environmental projects.

Other Kudos

  • They encourage you to contact them with questions or new ideas.
  • Their glass is handcrafted using small-batch manufacturing.
