Make your fathers day message for dad and the planet!

Share with your friends on:

The best fathers day message you can give is one of love for him and for the planet. Most fathers want the best for their children’s future so what dad would not want to support the earth with their pressie.

Whether your father is into outdoor activities like fishing or skateboarding or just loves exploring the outdoors we have you covered. Here are our favorite eco-friendly recycled presents for this fathers day.

Father’s Day Recycled Gifts

For the Fishing Enthusiast

The family-owned Fishpond USA company based in Colorado has been making recycled products for 10 years. They started using their signature fabric Cyclepond made from repurposed fishing nets pulled from the ocean. They also use Econyl in their products, another fabric made from recycled fishing nets.

Fishpond is also the first fly fishing business to become a Certified B Corporation, working to redefine success in business with sustainability. What does that mean, well it means they meet the high standards for social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.

Here are a couple of their great products to give you some ideas.

For the Skateboarder

There are a couple of companies taking ocean rubbish and turning it into something useful again.

Working together with fisheries and local communities Bureo has created an incentivized program to collect fishing nets. They then clean, sort and recycle the fishing nets into NetPlus™. They use this material to create their products.

Bureo also partners with nonprofits, schools, and companies to provide education and get involved in beach cleanups. Here are their products.

For the Explorer

There are so many recycled backpacks out there on the market that there is no excuse but to buy one made from recycled materials. Here are a few of the ones we like the look of from Solgaard.

Solgaard designed luggage with sustainability in mind using recycled plastic in their products. Their designs have some pretty cool features including solar panels on their backpacks and USB charging ports in their luggage. The coolest thing is that they use recycled material.

You see Solgaard is on a mission to help cut ocean plastic in half by 2025. They use a fabric called Shore-Tex made from 100% ocean plastic. Here are a couple of their Ocean Plastic bags. Oh and for every product that you purchase they pull 5lbs of plastic from the ocean.

For the Surfer

Any dad that’s into the ocean is surely interested in helping to clean up ocean pollution. Whether it’s through volunteering for ocean cleanups, supporting non-profits, or buying products made from ocean trash your dad’s surely into it.

Oceanbroad turn rubbish into surf fins. I am not a surfer but these both look great.

There are also many companies using recycled polyester for their swimwear and clothing. Try taking a look at our recycled brand directory for companies that make recycled products for more ideas or check out our post 20 brands making recycled mens swimwear post.

Too Hard to Pick One? What about socks?

If you can’t choose from the amazing products above then why not just buy dad some recycled socks. Don’t worry they are made from recycled yarn not someone’s old socks!

Good luck finding something amazing for you Dad.
