I bet you thought a yoga challenge meant we were going to get you to try some awkward yoga position! No, we just want to challenge your mind while you are doing your yoga. There are heaps of brands out there making fantastic recycled leggings, activewear, or recycled yoga pants out of ocean plastics.

Recycled Leggings For Yoga

Yoga Democracy

Yoga Democracy uses recycled nylon and polyester to create their gorgeous printed yoga leggings and activewear. The yoga challenge here is choosing your design, as there are so many lovely ones.

Recycled Material Used

  • ECONYL® 100% regenerated nylon fiber.
  • Recycled Polyester (rPET) from recycled water bottles

What Else We Love

  • Designed, printed, cut, sewn, packaged, and distributed all from the same location in Arizona. Keeping everything close right through the processes helps to minimize their impacts.
  • Yoga Democracy offers a free hemming service in the USA and Canada to ensure the leggings you choose are the right length.
  • They provide care instructions for looking after your garment.
  • Their recycled leggings are made of 79% Recycled Plastic (P.E.T.).

Wolven

Inspired by nature, Wolven creates vibrant designs celebrating the roots of yoga. They believe that beautiful fashion should not come at the planet’s expense. They design yoga pants made from recycled bottles. They use recycled PET from recycled plastic water bottles, creating a second life for these plastics.

Recycled Material Used

  • OEKO-Tex Certified Recycled P.E.T. from recycled plastic bottles.

What Else We Love

  • Wolven manufacture in limited releases to reduce waste.
  • For each sale, Wolven removes one pound of waste from the ocean.
  • Wolven is carbon neutral. Investing in programs including Climate Neutral to offset their carbon emissions.

  • Packaging impacts are minimized through the use of 100% recycled poly mailers or biodegradable packaging.

Dk Active

Dk Active is an Australian brand designing activewear with the earth in mind. DK Active uses sustainable and recycled materials and sees quality as an important part of sustainable fashion.

Recycled Materials Used

  • They use ECONYL®, 100% regenerated nylon fiber made from fishnets and other nylon waste.

What Else We Love

  • Dk Active uses regenerated nylon, ECONYL®, made from recycled fishing nets, fabric scraps, and carpets.
  • They minimize their impact by undertaking all activities from cutting through to distribution in-house at their HQ.
  • They reduce landfills by using their offcuts to make samples, test machines, or donate them.
  • Dk Active’s fabrics have the OEKO-TEX standard 100 certification.
  • They use plastic-free packaging, biodegradable satchels, and carbon-neutral shipping options.
  • Their business is powered by solar energy.

Elle Evans

Elle Evans philosophy is to manufacture an item only when someone wants it. Moving away from the mass production model they make they minimize waste in the process. In the process, they help us to slow down and perhaps appreciate things more. Their recycled leggings are designed to be unique and delightful.

  • Elle Evans embraces zero-waste production. Not only with their made-to-order process but they also save small scraps for use in other designs. These scraps often become a frill or strap down the track on a swimsuit.

  • Closing the loop. Elle Evans is planning on closing their loop and accepting your old garments back.
